Success Stories: Not the Result of Big Ideas, Big Dreams or Thinking Big

Do you have big dreams, big ideas and huge goals? Do you pride yourself in being a ‘Big Thinker’? Maybe you’re a Dreamer who has yet to find success. Does your story include a lot of disappointment and frustration? Then this blog is for you…and millions of others just like you and me.

That’s right – I’m “preaching to the choir” here. I consider myself quite an authority on this subject of dreaming big. I’ve been doing it for years. It isn’t that difficult and doesn’t require that much of me – in fact, I can even do it in my sleep! But…I also know the frustration of having a lot of big ideas and the deep disappointment and dissatisfaction that can come from never seeing those ideas produce much success.

Don’t’ get me wrong – everyone should have dreams and goals! Thinking big enlarges vision and big ideas are necessary in almost every area of business…but they are not what produce the success stories of those we respect and admire.

If your only goal is to come up with the ideas and you make good money for doing that – then my hat is off to you! (Maybe you would be willing to share your secret?) But, for the rest of us poor starving dreamers and big thinkers, consider the following:

Most people can dream with their eyes closed. It’s harder to follow through and actually make the dream happen. It is the person who keeps his or her eyes open, their minds alert to new ways of doing and thinking, the one who never loses the passion, that will be able to take an idea, a dream, a thought (no matter the size) – and turn it into a big success!

Success stories are the result of more than big ideas, big dreams and thinking big. Success is the result of BIG WORK. Doing what is not easy – what might be scary and risky – what requires more than average effort and big passion – success stories are made of this.
